Excavator Spare Parts Steel Bearings Bucket Bushing

Wear Resistance HRC 58 62 Custom Steel Bucket Bushings Strong Internal Toughness
Excavator spare parts like steel bearings and bucket bushings are critical components that ensure the smooth operation and longevity of excavator attachments, particularly the bucket linkage system. Bucket Bushings Function: Bushings act as sleeves between the bucket’s pivot pins and its linkage arms (e.g., between the bucket and the stick). They absorb wear, preventing metal-to-metal contact and reducing maintenance needs.

    Bucket Bushing Material:

Often made from hardened steel, bronze, or composite materials (e.g., OEM-style SAE 841 bronze). Some have grease grooves for lubrication.

    Bucket Bushing Applications:

Found in bucket connections, dipper arms, and other pivot points.

    Corrosion resistance:

While hardened steel bushings are generally resistant to wear, they may still be susceptible to corrosion in certain environments. To mitigate this, they can be coated with protective finishes or manufactured from stainless steel for enhanced corrosion resistance.

    Versatility:

Hardened steel bushings can be used in a wide range of applications, including automotive, industrial machinery, construction equipment, and more. They are suitable for both rotating and sliding motion, providing support and reducing friction in various mechanical systems.

    Temperature resistance:

Hardened steel bushings can withstand high operating temperatures without significant degradation. This makes them suitable for applications where heat is generated or where they are exposed to elevated temperatures.

    Maintenance-friendly:

Hardened steel bushings often require minimal maintenance. Proper lubrication can further enhance their performance and extend their service life.

Why we need to replace the bucket shaft/ bucket bush?

How does Bucket Bushing works Bucket Bushing Types

    1. Wear

The bucket shaft is subjected to huge friction and impact during the excavation process, and surface wear, pits or deformation will occur after long-term use. When the gap between the shaft and the bushing is too large, it will cause the excavator to work unstably and affect accuracy (such as bucket shaking and reduced excavation force).

    2. Bushing Damage

The bucket shaft and bushing are used in pairs. If the bushing is severely worn and not replaced, the wear of the bucket shaft will be accelerated. If the bushing is broken or poorly lubricated, direct metal friction will quickly damage the bucket shaft.

    3. Lack of Lubrication

If the lubrication is insufficient or the grease is contaminated, dry friction will form between the bucket shaft and the bushing, resulting in high temperature, scratches or even "seizure" (the shaft is stuck and cannot rotate). Long-term lack of maintenance will cause rust and corrosion on the surface of the bucket shaft, aggravating wear.

    4. Looseness & Misalignment

A worn bucket shaft can cause the connection between the bucket, connecting rod or boom to loosen, resulting in abnormal noise (such as "clang" sound). Looseness can further cause other components (such as cylinders, pin holes) to deform or crack, increasing maintenance costs.

    5. Safety Hazard

A severely worn bucket shaft may suddenly break during heavy-load operation, causing the bucket to fall off, endangering the safety of operators and surrounding equipment. A loose or damaged bucket shaft will affect the stability of the entire machine, especially when operating on slopes or rugged terrain.
